DAAD Scholarship 2023-24 for International Students:

The DAAD Scholarships 2023–24 are now accepting applications in Germany. All international students from all over the world who want to get Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Germany on fully funded scholarships are encouraged to submit an application for a DAAD scholarship. For international students studying a Masters or Ph.D., the DAAD offers scholarships in designated universities with a wide range of academic fields. Over 100,000 German and international students receive assistance by the DAAD.

This scholarship has been made available by the German Government and covers almost all academic fields and majors. The award will cover all the expenses. The duration of the Master’s degree for the DAAD Scholarship 2024–2025 will be between 12 and 24 months (depending on the specific institution) and 36 months for the Ph.D.

Financial Benefits:

DAAD Scholarships 2024-25 for Master’s & Ph.D. is a Fully Funded Scholarship in Germany for International Students. It will cover all the expenses to study free in Germany.

  • Depending on educational background, 861 euros for graduates and 1,200 euros for doctorate applicants every month.
  • Travel allowance is used to cover expenses for health, accident, and personal liability insurance, unless the home country or another funding source covers these costs.

The following additional advantages are offered to scholarship recipients in specific instances:

  • Monthly rent subsidy.
  • Monthly stipend for accompanying family members.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • All developing country applicants.
  • Applicants hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (often a four-year program).
  • His/ her academic record shouldn’t be older than six years.
  • Applicants have a minimum of two years of industry experience.
  • English language requirements: Please check the scholarship advertisement or the study program website, depending on your choice of study program.

Documents Required:

  • Under “Application Procedure,” you may find the DAAD Scholarship application form.
  • A resume that has been personally signed (please use the Europass specimen form).
  • A maximum of two pages long, hand-signed letter of motivation that refers to your current position
  • Academic letters of reference (the letters must be recent and have a letterhead, the writer’s signature, and an official stamp).
  • Professional recommendation letter(s) from your workplace, with a current date, a letterhead, a signature, and an official stamp.
  • Confirmation of employment from your employer at home, along with, if at all feasible, a promise of future employment.
  • Certified copies of certificates of completion (with a certified translation if necessary)
  • Academic transcripts that have been (certified*) translated, if necessary.
  • Evidence of language proficiency:
    • TOEFL or IELTS for English (Note: We only accept the TOEFL Academic).
    • German is required for German-taught courses and, if available, English-taught courses.

Note: You must send one motivation letter explaining your reasons for enrolling for these particular courses and why you selected them when you apply for more than one postgraduate program (a maximum of 3 courses).

How to Apply for DAAD Scholarship?

Apply directly to the chosen study program.

Step 1: Your filled application(s) should be sent directly to the postgraduate program.
Step 2: A DAAD scholarship selection committee makes recommendations for possible applicants.
Step 3: The DAAD will get in touch with the suggested applicants to request that they upload their whole applications to the DAAD Portal.
Step 4: The final results of the selection process will be announced, and the recommended applicants will be informed.
